Moshpit is an iPhone terminal for people who run AI coding agents on their own servers: SSH and Mosh, native tmux and herdr, and agent state that reaches your lock screen. It has no account and no server of its own — it talks to your hosts and nothing else. These pages assume you already have a machine you can SSH into.

Agents
Answering agents from the lock screenAn agent on your server stops and asks for permission. This page traces the whole path: how that state gets to your phone, exactly what each button types back, which settings change it, and the point where iOS stops all of it.
Start a task without touching your working tree.Handing an agent a job usually means being at the machine: make a branch, open a terminal in it, start the agent, type the prompt. Moshpit's New Agent Task does those four things from one sheet — and it does them in a fresh git worktree, so whatever you had checked out stays exactly as it was. This is a herdr feature; tmux has no equivalent.
Using herdrherdr is a terminal multiplexer written for CLI coding agents. On a herdr connection Moshpit knows what every agent is doing with nothing installed on the host. Setup, vocabulary, key bindings, the Agents section, isolated tasks — and at the end, everything that does not work.
Terminal
tmux or herdr — pick per connection.A multiplexer keeps your work alive when the connection drops, and gives Moshpit something better to render than one long scroll. Moshpit speaks two. They are not interchangeable and it will never quietly swap one for the other, because their sessions are completely unrelated — switching would show you someone else's work.
Using tmuxMoshpit attaches as a tmux control client and draws your sessions, windows and panes as native iOS views. Here is what that does, what it changes on your server, and where it stops.

Typing Chinese in a terminal, properly.Terminal emulators on iOS are usually written by people typing ASCII. Turn on a Pinyin keyboard and the cracks show: the composing text is invisible, the caret jumps to the wrong place mid-word, and hold-to-delete refuses to repeat. Moshpit ships a patched terminal engine specifically to fix that.
Scrolling, and why it is harder than it looks.A swipe up means two completely different things depending on what is running in the pane. In a shell it means “show me what scrolled past”. In a full-screen program that grabbed the mouse — an agent, vim, htop — it means “scroll your own view”. Send the wrong one and either your history is unreachable or your keystrokes stop working.
Paste that does not run half your text.Pasting a multi-line block into a terminal used to be a way to execute the first three lines by accident. Moshpit uses bracketed paste when the program on the other end asks for it, so a block arrives as a block.
Reference
Keys, and knowing which machine answered.Two different trust problems sit at either end of a connection: proving to the server that you are you, and proving to you that the server is the one you meant. Moshpit handles both on device, and neither secret ever leaves it.
Make it look like your desktop.Two colour systems live side by side and they are deliberately separate: the terminal theme is what your shell's 16 colours look like, and the accent is what the app's own controls look like. Changing one never changes the other, so a Solarized terminal does not force a Solarized app.
TroubleshootingOrganised by what you see, not by what went wrong underneath. Every entry says what the screen means and what to do next. Several of them end in "nothing, this is a limit" — those are the honest ones.
